Working for us
Ackworth School, a co-educational boarding and day school, was founded in 1779 by the Society of Friends (Quakers). It maintains its ethos and traditions and is still governed by the society although only a small minority of pupils and staff are from the Quaker tradition. The school is academically non-selective and provides an excellent range of facilities and extra-curricular opportunities. The school is a member of both HMC and SHMIS.
There are currently over 320 pupils in the senior school (aged 11-18) and 125 pupils in Coram House, the junior school (aged 3-11). Over 80 of the senior school are boarders. The school also has an international studies centre providing academic English language programmes. The school is set in beautiful grounds in the village of Ackworth. There are excellent transport links to nearby cities such as York, Leeds, Sheffield, Harrogate and Wakefield. The dales and the peak district are both just over one hour away.
Nursery Teacher (Coram House)
Ackworth School is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic nursery teacher for our nursery in Coram House. Our nursery has grown hugely in recent years and this is down to the skill and commitment of our staff. Many of our pupils go on to our Reception class although we still provide an excellent facility for those looking to place their child in a sought after establishment that comes with the backing and facilities of a popular day and boarding school.
