Ackworth School Nursery is located in a beautiful safe setting, within our junior school, Coram House. Our Nursery is well equipped with expansive rooms and includes an extensive continuous provision area. Ackworth School prides itself on taking learning out of the classroom and our Nursery is not different, we have a dedicated outdoor area, which includes a sheltered area, a fruit and vegetable plot and a mud kitchen!
The Nursery children access a variety of activities and specialist teaching from all departments at Ackworth School. With inclusive wrap-around care, we offer popular Forest School sessions within the school’s expansive woodland areas, as well as music sessions and specialist language lessons.
Working with younger aged children, we set great store by creativity and a lot of energy is put into the Arts; from painting to collage; line drawing to model making; drama to music workshops; pupils of all ages take great pride in their work which is displayed throughout the Nursery and School.
We believe everybody is different so we offer a wide variety of sessions to choose from, making your childcare tailor-made to suit the needs of you and your child. To make sure that we’re right for your child admission is based on a ‘taster session’.
We welcome children into our nursery from 2.5 years of age.
During the summer term, our older Nursery children take part in Kindergarten sessions. These sessions offer a unique experience aimed at easing the transition from Nursery to junior school, so they can step up with confidence and an excitement to continue their schooling. This opportunity allows them to learn about where their educational journey will take them to next, meet their teachers and take part in swimming lessons in our own school swimming pool.
