On 13 July 2009, a group of eight Ackworth School pupils will be travelling to Namibia to help with a community-based project. We will
be teaching children from local schools and we may also be involved in some construction work on an orphanage. In order to fund the trip, we are all busy doing a variety of activities, from bag-packing in supermarkets to selling Christmas cards. We will also be selling ice-creams at the School production, 'Annie', as well as making wreaths for Christmas. Amongst future fund-raising events will be a meal at Ash's Balti Restaurant and, in March, we are hosting a concert at the School in which international opera singers
will be performing. We hope that you will help us, and that you
will enjoy the different events which will be taking place during the year in support of our project.
