Helping others is an important part of our ethos. During the year Coram House holds many events to raise money for charities. The children are encouraged to give their time to make a difference to the lives of others through team initiatives at school and independent initiatives supported at home.
The children are actively involved through the School Council, planning fundraising activities for the charity of the year. Successful fundraising over the past few years has been in support of The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The Royal National Lifeboat Institute and the Brain Tumour Awareness charity.
Coram House is proud of its links with the wider community. Children of all ages delight in singing Christmas carols at the local residential homes and school officers visit these homes to donate our harvest produce. Local schools are invited to take part in activity afternoons, be it swimming, art or science, and they regularly attend our theatre productions, enjoying a party tea in the interval.
Our children are involved in a number of events such as singing at the annual Party on the Green, taking part in family quizzes and treasure hunts and designing Christmas cards and calendars. The PSA annual ball is also hugely popular amongst our parents.
